The Natural Resources department manages:
- Natural Resource referrals
Examples: water license referrals, placer mine referrals - Vegetation & Invasive Plant management
Example: working with Invasive Species Council of BC on invasive plant projects - Wildlife management
Example: participating in moose aerial surveys, amphibian surveys, and bird surveys - Fisheries management
Example: participating in Upper Fraser Fisheries Conservation Alliance & First Nations Fisheries Council of BC meetings - Forestry management
Example: Helping to negotiate agreements with timber licensees, answering forestry referrals & woodlot referrals - Water management
Example: writing proposals and completing creek restoration work and answering water related referrals - Liaising with Ministry of Forests, Lands & Natural Resources staff, Department of Fisheries & Oceans staff and other government & third parties
Example: Northern Shuswap & FNLRO Fish & Wildlife committee meeting - Cooperatively deals with WLIB Lands with the WLIB Land Code & law development
Example: Help in developing WLIB laws - Cooperatively deals with archaeology with Sugar Cane Archaeology staff
Example: Ensure archaeology addressed in Natural Resource & forestry referrals
