Student Awards Program

The Williams Lake Indian Band is introducing a community wide Student Awards Program to assist Post Secondary Students to complete their post-secondary Education. This program applies only to Post Secondary Students that are not currently being funded by the Williams Lake Indian Bands Education Department.

Williams Lake Band Membership attending or applying to attend a post secondary program, in a federally recognized college or university that provides a degree or diploma are eligible to apply. The Education Committee will review applications and make final selection based on each individual financial need. Once a selection has been made, applicant will be notified and payment will be made directly to the Institution, with the exception of books/supplies to be paid to applicant.

Each year, two students will receive $4,000.00 annually for their education expenses (tuition and books only), to a maximum of four years at university or years at college, in discipline related, but not restricted to any one-service industry. To be eligible applications must be received at the Williams Lake Indian Band by June 1, Successful applicants will be notified by July 26.   For November 1, Successful applicants will be notified by November 19.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JUNE 1st FOR SEPTEMBER AND NOVEMBER 1ST FOR JANUARY
